The Food Pencil arrives unsharpened. We recommend sharpening your Food Pencil with a thick makeup pencil sharpener. The tip can be whittled to any thickness you desire.

fantastic addition to cookie decorating tool box

I used to use a super fine tip marker with my projector to outline lettering and shapes. Invariably, there would be a cookie with a noticeable ink like just lurking outside of the icing. This pencil leaves a softer line, and makes the finished cookies look cleaner. The only downside - the pencil wax dulls rather quickly and you must sharpen it frequently to keep a sharp tip.
